Interlink Commerce Managed EDI

Yes! Interlink lets any order source talk to any destination securely, ensuring seamless integration and data flow. We use API connections to integrate your EDI with any cloud-based or API-ready software, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), eCommerce, 3PL, and shipping software. And you’ll be able to monitor everything from your Interlink dashboard, simplifying business decisions with a single source of truth.

Most of our customers are onboarded and actively trading within a week of signup! We handle all your configuration, automation, and testing. Then we train you to use our ridiculously user-friendly customer portal. So your learning curve will be minimal, and you’ll turn a profit much more quickly than with leading EDI providers.

Everything we do is fully customized to your needs. You’ll pay a one-time startup fee, and monthly fees for managed EDI services, both adjusted to your specific usage.

  • Startup services are tailored to the exact configuration, training, etc. that you need, so we’ll give you a custom quote after your free consult.
  • Monthly fees start at $200/month for your first  200 documents, including unlimited users and trading partners. Beyond that minimum, we bill only for the actual number of documents processed each month, starting when your first trading partner is onboard and actively trading. Cost per document drops significantly at higher volumes (to as little as $0.10/document), so your ROI increases as your business grows. And our “No Transaction – No Invoice” policy means that for any month with zero transactions, your monthly fee is waived.
Interlink Commerce gives you full administrative control of your portal. Add as many users as you need, whenever you need to, at no additional cost!
Not with Interlink Commerce! We’re the only managed EDI solution on the market with a “No Transaction – No Invoice” policy. This means that when you have no transactions during any given month, our system will not send you an invoice.
Call on our 24/7 email support! We also offer phone support during business hours (Pacific/Eastern). A dedicated support professional will answer any questions, and help you resolve potential issues. Personal, responsive service is what we do.

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Basics

EDI, or Electronic Data Interchange, is the computer-to-computer exchange of business documents in a standardized electronic format. It allows businesses to exchange information, such as purchase orders and invoices, electronically, eliminating the need for manual data entry and paper-based processes. Which not only reduces errors and chargebacks, but clears operational bottlenecks and slashes administrative costs.

EDI is required for compliance with large retailer mandates, allowing you to land bigger contracts and scale product distribution. But it also eliminates many time-consuming manual processes, for increased efficiency, reduced errors, faster transaction processing, improved data accuracy, enhanced supply chain visibility, and better partner collaboration. By streamlining business processes, it also improves overall productivity and ROI, and makes strategic business growth decisions simple.

EDI converts business documents, such as purchase orders and invoices, into a standardized electronic format (for example, EDI X12 or EDIFACT), which computer systems can easily read and share with each other. This format enables seamless exchange of accurate information between trading partners. The process requires EDI software and/or service providers to translate, transmit, and process EDI documents.

EDI can transmit any electronic document that is part of a business transaction. This includes purchase orders, invoices, shipping notices, advance shipping notices (ASN), inventory documents, payment remittance advice… truly, any document your business needs!

The right EDI provider can customize setup for your existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and data flow. EDI helps all your business systems talk to each other using standard protocols – such as AS2, FTP, or VAN (Value Added Network) – to transmit data securely between systems. So yes, you can keep using your favorite solutions, but improve overall performance and visibility across your entire supply chain, with EDI.

Without the secure and reliable EDI that major retailers and distributors everywhere depend on, the retail industry as we know it would grind to a halt. So, every EDI provider relies on various security measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of exchanged data. This includes encryption, digital signatures, secure transmission protocols, and secure data centers. Interlink Commerce adheres to industry-standard security practices, complies with all regulatory requirements, and monitors your EDI to quickly resolve potential issues.

In general, you’ll need to choose an EDI solution or service provider, map your business documents to the appropriate EDI format, set up communication channels with trading partners, test and validate the EDI system, and finally, go live with the production environment. Your specific requirements and timelines may vary, based on your business needs and the complexity of your EDI implementation. When you work with Interlink Commerce, we handle all that setup for you so you’re up and running quickly, as well as ongoing maintenance to ensure reliable performance.

Many EDI providers use an outdated kilocharacter fee pricing structure, which made sense pre-internet when data was expensive. They charge per kilocharacter of data exchanged (1 kilocharacter = 1,000 characters). But since you can’t tell how many kilocharacters will be in a month’s worth of transmissions, predicting each month’s invoice total is impossible.

Document fees are more transparent, making it easier to understand and control your EDI costs. That’s why Interlink Commerce calculates monthly charges using the document fee pricing structure. You’re charged based on the number of individual EDI documents exchanged in a given month.
