3PLs & Logistics

EDI for freight brokers, carriers and 3PLs. We connect you to your shippers, so load tenders come in and status updates and invoices go out without anyone retyping. Set up in days and run by our team.

What it does

Freight brokers

Take load tenders (204) from shippers, accept them (990), and send status updates (214) and invoices (210) back.

Carriers

Receive tenders from brokers and shippers, and send tracking updates and freight invoices back automatically.

3PL warehouses

Warehouse orders (940), shipping confirmations (945), receipts and stock transfers (943/944).

Works with your TMS

We connect through your TMS’s EDI, API or file import, so tenders land where your team already works.

Every shipper’s spec

Each shipper’s EDI rules are mapped and tested for you. No monthly fee per shipper.

Watched for you

We monitor every tender and update, and step in when one fails.

Example: one load, start to finish

  1. 1

    Tender in

Your shipper sends a 204 load tender. It shows up in your TMS.

  2. 2

    You accept

A 990 goes back to the shipper to accept the load.

  3. 3

    Status updates

214s report pickup, in transit and delivery as the load moves.

  4. 4

    Invoice out

A 210 freight invoice goes to the shipper when the load delivers.

3PLs & Logistics FAQ

What EDI do shippers ask freight brokers for?

Usually four documents: the 204 load tender, the 990 response that accepts or declines it, the 214 shipment status update, and the 210 freight invoice. Each is confirmed with a 997 acknowledgment. Some shippers ask for more, and we set up whatever their spec requires.

A shipper just asked us for EDI. How fast can we start?

Most connections are live in days. The main wait is usually the shipper’s own testing, and we run that testing with them for you.

Do we need EDI software or a VAN?

No. We run the EDI for you and connect to each shipper the way they require: AS2, SFTP or a VAN. There is nothing for you to install or manage.

Will it work with our TMS?

We connect to your TMS through its EDI support, its API or file import, so tenders show up where your team already works. Tell us which TMS you use and we will confirm how we would connect it.

We work with a lot of shippers, each with its own spec. Is that a problem?

No. Each shipper gets its own map and its own testing. Adding a shipper is a one-time setup fee, never a new monthly fee, and your first one is free.

What does it cost per load?

You pay per document, not per shipper. A typical load is about six documents: a tender, a response, three status updates and an invoice. On our published rates that is roughly $320/mo for 100 loads a month and roughly $1,310/mo for 500. In a month with no loads there is no usage bill. Use the pricing calculator for your own numbers.

What happens if a tender or status update fails?

We monitor every document. If a tender does not come through or a 214 is rejected, we see it, fix it and tell you, so a missed update does not turn into a lost load.

Can a shipper send us data by API instead of EDI?

Yes. We work with REST and SOAP APIs as well as EDI and translate between them, so you can work with shippers either way.

Do you work with carriers, not just brokers?

Yes. Carriers use the same documents from the other side: they receive tenders and send back status updates and invoices. We set up both sides.

We run warehouses too. Do you handle 3PL warehouse EDI?

Yes: 940 warehouse shipping orders, 943 and 944 stock transfers and receipts, and 945 shipping confirmations, connected to your warehouse system. For brands, we also turn a 3PL’s 945 into the retailer’s 856 ship notice automatically.

Who do we talk to when something goes wrong?

A real person on our US-based support team, not a chatbot.
